Banana in Pajamas

We had an interesting morning today. I couldn't believe it, so I decided I would post it.

I got to bed later than unusual last night. I was still pretty tired when Daniel started crying at 6am. Luckily, I was able to get him back to sleep, and went back to bed myself. Maybe an hour or so later, I thought I heard him walking down the hall. I waited for him to come find me, but he never did. I fell asleep again. Daryl went out to mow the lawn. I woke up to a conversation that went something like this...

Daryl- "Honey, did you get up with Daniel?"

Me- "Um no."

Daryl- "How did he get the banana?"

Me- "Banana? I left on on the counter yesterday. Maybe he could reach it."

Daryl- "You didn't peel it for him?"

Me- "No, I didn't."


Apparently, Daniel woke up and decided he was hungry. So he grabbed a banana off of the counter, peeled it himself, threw the peels into the trash, and sat down in his TV chair to eat and watch HGTV (home and garden TV), because that's what Daryl had on before he went out to mow the lawn.
We were totally amazed. We had now idea he could do all of that by himself. What a smart kid.
