Today is Daniel's birthday! He turned 3. He opened his present this morning. A new Thomas the Train full lenth movie. He got to watch it while we ate pancakes for breakfast.
After breakfast, my sister, Kerami and her friend Matt came over. They just happened to have a culture pass to the Science Center for today, and invited us to share it with them.
He connected a few pipes to pile in the construction area.
Here he is with Kerami walking along the cool bridge.
His favorite part was the little house and garden area, and the storm machine. (That's what I'm going to call it. Sorry no pictures of that.) We stood in a circular fenced off area big enough for like 30 or forty poepl while they played adio and video of every kind of weather imaginable. When there was an earthquake or the lightening struck, the ground shook. When the grass caught on fire, we could feel the heat. Then it rained on us (literally sprinkled). Heidi didn't care for the water. She was already DONE for the day. Daniel really liked it. I thought it was prettly neat too.
After lunch and nap, Daniel got to play with his other present: a big-boy bike with training wheels. He was telling me just last week "Don't wike tricle. Need bike. Daniel tell Santa need bike." (I bought it at a yard sale a month ago.) It took a few laps around the house, but he got used to it pretty quickly. I forgot to take pictures of him riding it. I'll have to update with those soon.
Later, for dinner we had biscuit pizzas (Daniel's choice) and a train birthday cake (you know he chose that too). The cake doesn't look like much, but it WAS tasty. (This was my first real attempt at a special cake.)
Daniel was excited.
Heidi liked it too. (Or at least the cookies.)
After dinner (and baths) I took the kids to see his Grandma and Grampa Lamoreaux. He has been asking to go over there all day today. He got to open gifts there too. They gave him a hoodie, a fishing game, and a wooden puzzle. Thanks, Grandma, Grandpa,Cheryl, and Karolann!
He had a grea time fishing. (Heidi was trying to steal the show by smiling so cute.)
Happy birthday my Big Boy Daniel! We love you Buddy!
