Easter Weekend- Friday

We had a great Easter Weekend filled with lost of fun activites. LanaMarie and her family came into town for Brisa's baby blessing (Irving's little girl), so we were able to get together a few time throughout the weekend. Amber (Dary'l cousin) had the great idea to hold a cousin play group Friday morning while they were here. LanaMarie was able to come, and brought Wesson to play with the kids. Amber had her 3 boys (she's expecting #4), and Mindi came with her 2 boys. Kaylene came too! (she's pregnant too) Then there was me, with Daniel and Heidi. Kaylene was a great help and played with Heidi quite a bit. I was able to keep a better eye on Daniel, and take lots of pictures. Thanks Kaylene!
Daniel discovered a steering wheel and spent a good amount of time "driving" it.
Here are Cameron, Daniel and Jarom at the slide.
Here's Daniel climbing through the tunnel.
After we played for a little while, we all went down to the lake to feed the ducks. (Amber planned ahead and brought popcorn.) Most of the kids enjoyed throwing it out to the ducks in the water. Wesson and Eben, however, decided the popcorn was too good to share. They ate it instead of throwing it.

(Amber with Ezra, LanaMarie with Wesson, Mindi with Eben, and Me with Heidi)

We all had a great time catching up while the kids played together. Thanks Amber, for getting us all together for such a fun morning!

Easter Weekend - Saturday

Saturday, Daryl and I took the kids to Grandma and Grandpa Burgess' house for the annual Easter lunch and egg hunt. We each bring a type of sandwich and maybe one other dish to share. Those of us with children who still hunt for eggs also bring at least a dozen filled eggs to contribute. Normally the festivities are held entirely outdoors. This year we had to do everything inside, due to rain. Daryl took some great pictures of Daniel "hunting" in the living room. He had a great time!
He had the hardest time trying to keep his Easter bag on his shoulder.

Easter Weekend - Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday was such a beautiful spring day. The kids looked so cute in their Easter clothes. This Easter has been allot more fun, for me anyways, now that Daniel is getting old enough to be excited about things. This picture was taken right after we got home from church. If you look closely, you will notice the orange car in Daniel's hands. When he saw this remote control car in his Easter basket, he immediately fell in love. He literally refused to let go of it, even for a meal, for the next 3 days. All he wanted to do was... "dribe it" ...

"wace it"...

and "cwash it" with his daddy.
(Daddy got one too.)
Unfortunately, like most dollar store toys, the beloved car stopped working after only 3 days of life. I cut the cord last night to avoid any injuries. He still plays with it and carries it around some. But it's just not the same without the power. We'll miss you, little race car, in all your glory. (at least Daniel will)

5 Months

Last Saturday, Heidi turned 5 months old. Here are some pictures I took of her a day or so later. Some are black and white, and some are color. (I wanted to test out the color settings on my camera.) Enjoy!

Phoenix Zoo

Just over a week ago, while Arleen was in town for their spring break, we all decided to take the kids to the zoo. I brought Daniel and Heidi, Arleen had her 4 kids, Mindi came with her two boys. We also had Karolann and Mikey, Cheryl, and Dean and Sharon (Daryl's parents).
Lucky for me, my kids were happier than I expected. (I wasn't expecting much since we used up our nap time to be there.) Daniel was pretty content to ride in the stroller most of the time. He didn't even ask to get out...
until he saw the tractor.
He HAD to get out and ride the tractor with the older kids.

He also had a great time chasing the goats around, trying to brush them.
This is (an attempt at) a picture of us while we were there.
We had great fun, but when it's over, it's definitely over.
I think we could all use a big nap.
