From now until Tuesday, Fry's grocery store has pasta on sale for .49 a box, when you buy 10. Go to these two websites and print you coupons for $1 off of 2 boxes of pasta. Then you will get them for free!! There should be a total of five different coupons to print. It will let you print each one twice. 28 Weeks

Today I am 28 weeks along. Isaac moves and squirms all over the place. He gets hiccups quite often too. I'm starting to get into the uncomfortable part of pregnancy. My Dr. appointment/glucose test will be tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully I drink it right, and the results are good. Not really concern though. Here's a picture of me I took today with my phone. I'm not too fond of the lovely bathroom view, but it's the best I can do on my own.

Dear Duke

Today we lost our beloved dog, Duke. I read somewhere, that Great Danes, because of their size and height, usually live anywhere from 8 to 10 years. Duke was just over 8 years old. His health has been going down hill for the past few weeks now. Although we have been putting more and more food out for him to eat, he has been eating less, and less and looking skinnier, and skinnier. As sad as we are to see him go, he is much happier now. He was always such an awesome dog. He almost never barked, (unless he thought there was trouble.) He never jumped, and was a total sweetheart to our kids. They were more comfortable around Duke than pretty much any other dog, big or small. We love you, Duke. we will always remember you. Sadly, I am unable to find pictures of him to post. I will keep looking. I know I've taken some cute ones.

Heidi the "Big Girl"

We're now on day 2 of potty training Heidi (or rather Heidi training herself). I bought her some pull-ups the other day. She ran out of her regular ones, and I wasn't comfortable putting he straight into underwear just yet. (This is something I never did for Daniel. I'm generally under the opinion that pull-ups are just glorified, expensive diapers, and actually make it tougher for a kid to learn how to stay dry.) I had her sit on her potty a few times, yesterday morning. She did pretty good for a little while, then just peed in her pull-up. So I went ahead and pulled out her underwear. She has worn them before, for a morning here and there, and that's about it. She managed to keep them pretty much dry, and she's been taking it from there. (I do let her wear a pull-up during nap and at bed time, until she gets the hang of that.)

She's been wearing her pretty panties from the get go since then, and doing awesome at it. I haven't had to mop a floor yet! (Knock on wood.) Go Heidi! She is so excited when she gets a sticker on her chart, and she gets to call a family member and hear them tell her what a big girl she is, and that they are so proud of her. (Thanks for the support from those of you we have called thus far.) She's filled up one chart with 10 stickers, and is 1/2 way through her second one already. (I guess it's time to pull out the charts that require more sticker to be full.) Soon she'll get to take them to the dollar store and pick out a prize for each one..

I am super excited at the prospect of not having to change (or buy) diapers for two children. Hope she keeps this up!

Daniel had a rough time with the potty, and really hated leaving his toys to go. Since he's turned four this last December, he has decided he needs to "get ready for school". I no longer have to worry about carrying extra clothes for him, just in case.

Back to the Drawing Board...sort of.

After a few days of working at his new job, Daryl has learned that the job he took was not what was he was expecting. He was told he would be going analysis-type of work, and working closely with the accounting department, which is where he really wants to be. When he started his training he realized that this was not the case. In fact, all they were asking him to do were tasks involving data entry. We are searching for something more challenging that would help him learn and grow, much like his other job. Something he can be excited to go to work on. So after much discussion, he has agreed to work there for the rest of this week, and then he will be looking into other avenues. We have some prospects in the works. He will be doing some side work, working closely with his old bosses, doing some accounting for their personal business accounts. He has a meeting later this week, with a friend of theirs who could also use a good bookkeeper/accountant. We'll have to see how things work out in these areas. Again, I will try to keep you updated.
