"Make it Dress"

Daniel and Heidi came in the office with me while I used the computer after nap for a little while. I turned around to check on them and found Daniel draping some old fabric remnants over an extra computer on the floor. When I asked him what he was doing he said "Make it Daniel dress." Luckily, I had the camera on hand. Here are some pictures of Daniel and his "dress". Notice the pride on his face as he shows it off. The next project will definitely be for Daniel. He's obviously feeling left out.

Create!

I've been think alot lately about Heidi and her up-coming 1st birthday (in November). I decided I really wanted to do something special for her. I thought back to my own childhood, and all of the beautiful dresses that my mother made for us 5 girls over the years. So I decided I would try and make Heidi her own beautiful little dress to wear on her special day. Here is the first of many dresses to come. I'm kind of proud of it.I realized, after making this dress, and a few other projects around our house, that I really love creating things! I kind of stumbled across a video today, of one of my favorite talks. It really inspires me and my creativity. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

9 Months

Heidi is now officially 9 months old.
Weight:17 lbs 7 oz
Height: 28 in. long

I am just amazed at how much her personality shows in everything she does. She can crawl now, but only when she feels like it(when she realizes it's faster). She's even started pulling herself up on things and TRYING to kneel and reach for things. She doesn't care at all that she has almost no balance or strength to do so. (Daniel was always over-cautious about any new stage.) She LOVES to have her picture taken, but loves the camera itself even more. I had to keep moving from one side of the room to the other just to get any sort of picture while she scooted over to get the camera. Silly girl. Daniel absolutely adores her. He would do just about anything for his "sitder".

Water Waders and Flamingo

We had irrigation yesterday evening and Daryl was able to be home and play with us. Daniel accepted the invitation and had a great time wading through the water with his daddy. Heidi politely declined. She tried her best to curl her feed up to avoid getting wet. When that didn't work so well, she settled for standing on one foot. She looked like a little purple flamingo.

8 Months

I've been a real slacker with our blog lately. I've even missed Heidi's 8 month update! So, here it is. (Better late than never right?)

Heidi is now 8 months old (almost 9 months) she still army crawls everywhere she goes, but much quicker. Her little personality is starting to show even more now. This girl is fearless! She loves scooting all over the house. Even in places she really doesn't fit. I am constantly having to rescue her from the tightest places like between furniture or under dining chairs. She seems to really like music too. Her favorite song is "Just Can't Get Enough" by Insideout. She always calms right down when I play it for her in the car. (And when it's over, she is sure to let me know.) She even dances -bobs her head- to music, when she feels like it. She is such a sweet girl. We love you Heidi!
